Jay Osgerby co-designed the London 2012 Olympic Torch with Edward Barber. Its double-skinned aluminium construction, perforated with 8,000 circles, was engineered to be light, hard-wearing, and safe to carry; the Design Museum identifies Osgerby individually and awarded the torch Design of the Year.
