The object
Massoud Hassani invented Mine Kafon, a wind-driven device intended to trigger mines from a distance, and developed the related Mine Kafon Drone system. These purpose-built clearance machines focus attention on the physical danger and enormous cost of removing explosive remnants from civilian landscapes.
What Massoud did
Invented the Mine Kafon wind-driven landmine-clearing device and led its subsequent Mine Kafon Drone hardware programme.
Why it matters
Mine Kafon was collected by MoMA and developed into a drone system for safer aerial mapping and detection in mine-affected areas.
Living-status check
Mine Kafon's history page, published in 2026, identifies Hassani as the project's creator and records the current Mine Kafon hardware programme, positive evidence he was alive in 2026.
